Growth Works Supports Local Action to Protect Youth from Kratom

Growth Works is encouraged to see Plymouth Township taking steps to address the sale of kratom products in its community. We applaud local leaders who are prioritizing public safety and working to protect young people from potentially harmful substances that are readily available at gas stations and smoke shops.

As an organization serving youth and families throughout Wayne County, Growth Works believes prevention starts with awareness, education, and proactive community action. Kratom products, including highly concentrated derivatives such as 7-OH, raise serious concerns about accessibility, potential dependence, and the risks young people and families may not fully understand.

We are proud to support communities that are taking a closer look at kratom and exploring meaningful steps to address its availability. Through collaboration with local leaders, law enforcement, and community partners, we can work together to promote safer environments for our youth and families.

Protecting our communities means looking out for our young people — and taking action before preventable harm occurs.
